Internship Students Become Tour Guides and Sports Museum Ambassadors for Foreign Visitors
Surabaya – In addition to completing a number of innovative projects,
intern students at the Surabaya Sports Museum also play an active role in
public service activities, especially in accompanying visitors who come to the
museum.
Last September, the students participated in the Surabaya Sight City Tour (SSCT) which brought a group of tourists to visit the Sports Museum. In each of these visits, there are foreign tourists from various countries who are tour participants. Interns have the opportunity to guide and explain the museum's collections in English, as well as introduce the history of sports in Indonesia to foreign tourists.
In addition to accompanying tour groups, students also often help foreign
visitors who come independently. With their communication skills and knowledge,
they provide explanations about the collections, national sports figures, and
educational values contained in the exhibitions at the museum.
Not only that, interns are also tasked with documenting every visit to
the Sports Museum, both from educational institutions, communities, and tour
groups. This documentation is part of the museum's efforts to record public
activities and improve services for visitors.
Through these activities, students not only gain practical experience in
the field of museums and tourism, but also act as cultural and sports
ambassadors who help introduce the rich history of Indonesian sports to the
wider community, including international visitors.
