"How Music and Movies Can Change Your Perspective on Literature: Litscape's Unique Way to Enhance Literary Understanding"

English Literature Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Language and Science, Surabaya State University, In an innovative approach to literary analysis, a group of college students have taken to discussing song lyrics and movies in their English Literature study program. The initiative, called "LITSCAPE" aims to bridge the gap between music and movie in encouraging students to see deeper into literature.

Led by Study Program Student Association called AELS (Association of English Literature), the students have been exploring the connections between literature, music, and film. By analyzing the ways in which these art forms can be used to interpret and contextualize literary works, students are gaining a deeper appreciation for the complexity and richness of literature.

“I think litscape is very helpful in the way of discovering new interesting movies and understanding music on a deeper level, it can also act as recommendations." said Daundra d'Kanza Syaurellia, one of college students in English Literature Study Program.

The students' discoveries have not only enhanced their understanding of literature but also fostered a sense of community and friendship within the class due to the things they gotten from the litscape is not only a literature analysis but also a life’s value of its litscape’s story. The litscape’s music and movie list are customized by either English literature student’s suggestion or the suggestion of student of other study program, hence it will very help either in the student’s literature development or in keeping the Litscape’s interest, By sharing their insights and perspectives, they have created a collaborative environment that encourages active listening, critical thinking, and creative analysis.

“Litscape is made for students to shape their creative passions by analyzing songs and movies, that can encourage students to start analyzing and share their thoughts.” said One of Aels’ Members, fairuz chandreswari. "By doing so, we're gaining a deeper appreciation for the ways in which art can shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us."

As the semester progresses, the students plan to continue exploring new songs and movies, using their newfound skills to analyze and interpret the meanings. Their journey, Listcape, is an inspiring testament to the power of learning and the boundless creativity of college students.
